It can be quite easy to wind up with a beer stain on your carpet. Have a party and chances are that you will have to deal with one. And, as more beer flows, the odds of some of it hitting the floor increases greatly. No problem, they are quite easy to clean and here is how.
For this procedure, you will need just a few things. You will need some clean white cotton towels or some dye free paper towels, a detergent solution and a vinegar solution. To make the detergent solution, fill a spray bottle with water and then add a teaspoon of a mild dish detergent. To make your vinegar solution, fill a spray bottle 1/4 of the way with white vinegar and fill it the rest of the way with water.
Step 1: If there is any liquid beer still on the carpet, blot up as much as you can with your cotton or paper towels. Do not rub, just blot. Continue until no more of the beer transfers to the towels.
Step 2: Now, take your detergent solution and apply it to a towel. Blot the spot with the detergent, working from the outside towards the center. Repeat this process until beer no longer transfers.
Step 3: Next, take your vinegar solution and apply it to a new towel. Again, blot the spot until nothing transfers to the towel.
Step 4: Allow the spot to completely dry before putting the area back to use. A portable fan will speed the drying time considerably.
