How do anti static carpet treatments work?
Anti static treatments work by dissipating electricity using a mixture containing conductive metals. It is applied to the carpet after cleaning and the carpet is then able to disperse static electricity.
How long do anti static treatments last?
In most cases, the treatment will last between 9 to 12 months. In some cases, where there is heavy traffic, the treatment may only last 3 to 6 months. Plenty of time to get through the tough winter weather when static electricity is most common.
How is anti static treatment applied?
It is best to apply an anti static treatment after a cleaning. So, first the carpet is vacuumed and thoroughly cleaned using a truck mounted carpet cleaning machine, when feasible. Next, the anti stat treatment is mixed up and applied to the carpet. It is then worked into the carpet using a carpet groomer and then allowed to dry.
How much is anti static treatment?
This will depend on the part of the country that you are in, but in general, expect to pay between five to fifteen cents per square foot.
