Negative Air Duct Cleaning
If it is time to get the air ducts in your home cleaned, you need to get them done the right way. One of the best ways to clean air ducts is with a negative air system.
How do you know if you need your air ducts cleaned?
Air duct cleaning is not something that needs to be done often, but it is recommended from time to time. Signs that you need to have your system cleaned include excess dust in your home, visible mold in the vents, an increase in allergies or sicknesses in your home or an infestation of insects or rodents in your air ducts.
What is Negative Air Duct Cleaning?
With negative air duct cleaning, a large vacuum line is connected to your HVAC unit. Each duct line on your system is then cleaned separately with brushes and/or air whips. Your return duct is cleaned in a similar fashion and then the unit itself is cleaned. This is also a good time to have your coils cleaned on your system which will improve the efficiency of your system. Not all carpet cleaners have the necessary licenses to clean coils though.
Why use Negative Air Duct Cleaning?
You want to use a negative air system because, quite frankly, it is the best system to use. Powerful vacuums remove contaminants from your system without polluting your home. With other systems, dust is spilled out of the vents and into your home contaminating your air. Some systems also use weak vacuums which are barely capable of removing dust and debris.
